Keys 2 Success and BONJ Premiere Video

On Friday June 12 at 4:00 PM, Keys 2 Success and The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey presented a premiere of their landmark collaboration video.

Maestro Robert W. Butts and young composer Elijah Souels co-composed a set of variations on the old Shaker tune Simple Gifts.   Their arrangement was given its premiere at the end of this special video.

Several young Newark pianists (grades 1-6) who participate in the Keys 2 Success program recorded themselves playing their parts of the composition - individually!

Maestro Butts and Elijah Souels were interviewed by Jee-Hoon Krska (founder of Keys 2 Success) about music and the art of composing.  Many of the young pianists introduced themselves, as did several BONJ musicians.

All was put together into a timely and unforgettable video that was given its premiere showing on June 12, simultaneously on Facebook and YouTube.

Enjoy this very special work of art - communities, artists, and people working and performing - together!

BONJ artists who helped make this possible included Rosalie Dumas, Sara d'Sa, Laura Layton, Evan Ardelle, Sariah Johnson, Roosevelt Porter, Nancy Vanderslice, Margret Schaefer, and Lee Doswell.
