In an effort to provide some of the best and most diverse classical music performances in Northern New Jersey, the BONJ has assembled a unique concert.

The Yellow River Piano Concerto (simplified Chinese: 黄河协奏曲; traditional Chinese: 黃河協奏曲; pinyin: Huáng Hé xiézòuqǔ) is a piano concerto arranged by a collaboration between musicians including Yin Chengzong and Chu Wanghua, and based on the Yellow River Cantata by composer Xian Xinghai. Since its politicised premiere in 1969 during the Cultural Revolution, the Concerto has become popular in China and amongst overseas Chinese nationalists.

Winter Dances was composed by Amy Reich for the BONJ in celebration of the orchestra's 20th Anniversary.

Tchaikovsky's Symphony #6 was the last major work Tchaikovsky composed. While on the surface it seems to be similar to the composer's other works, in reality it is startlingly different. It is more internalized and the themes have a new structure and shape - even the famous melody of the first movement. The 2nd movement sounds like a waltz, but is actually in 5/4 time, not the expected 3/4 time.

The 4th movement is one of the most relentlessly driving marches ever written.

Lastly, Tchaikovsky was the first composer to place the slow movement at the end of the work. It is one of the greatest masterpieces of orchestral writing and in its way one of the most revolutionary.
