Edgar Allen Poe’s stories are psychologically probing and filled with suspense, drama and a touch of the macabre.    Two of his most popular tales are The Tell-Tale Heart and The Cask of Amontillado.    Maestro Robert W. Butts has taken the tales and given them an added twist!    His distinctive music adds to the dramatic story-telling, adding also little bits of humor to the stories and characters.

The Tell-Tale Heart stars Timothy Maureen Cole as The Lady, Noelle Arteche as The Neighbor and direct from Rome Alessio Magnaguagno as The Sergeant.

The Cask of Amontillado stars Karole Lewis as Anna, Emily Thompson as Angela, Peter Lewis as John and Noelle Arteche as Lisa the Wine Girl.

Also featured are actors Tom Loughman and Anthony Shashaty.

Maestro Butts is an award winning conductor, composer and educator.  He is on the faculties of the Cali School of Music – Montclair State University, The Casperson School of Graduate Studies – Drew University, and The College of Saint Elizabeth.   He lectures throughout the area for the New Jersey Council for the Humanities and in many local programs.    He has served as conductor for The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, Eastern Opera New Jersey, In Mid Air Productions, Opera Theater of Montclair, New Jersey Concert Opera and The Little Opera Company.     He has conducted concerts and operas in Germany, Italy, Russia and Romania.    His compositions have been performed around the world – most recently having premieres in Crema, Italy and in London, England.   He has been awarded for his work as conductor and composer by The Arts Council of the Morris Area and The American Prize.
