Maestro Butts, with New Jersey playwright Jewel Seehaus-Fisher, will have the first reading of his most recently composed opera “Mark Twain and the General” at The Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Street, Cranford, New Jersey on Saturday May 19 at 2:00 PM.    The program is part of Mark Spina’s Theatre Project new works series.  Admission is free.

The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey has received a $500 grant from the Rotary Club of Madison for “positive contributions The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey makes in our [Madison area] community.”
 
In presenting the award, Rotary Club officials said, “The entire committee was impressed by the work you do.”  One of the requirements of the award asks Orchestra officials to speak at a Rotary meeting and suggest ways that  Rotary members can be involved with the Orchestra.

Music Lovers of All Ages Are Wowed by Free Family Concert Presented by The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey
                  
 
It was a joyous audience, populated by music lovers of all ages, from all areas of New Jersey, who attended the annual free Family Concert sponsored by The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey on Sunday afternoon, March 18, at Grace Church, Madison.
