Agnes Kwasniewska

Agnes Kwasniewska

violinist Agnes Kwasniewska, born in Poznan, Poland, has been a vital part of the BONJ sound for several years. She has served as an inspiring concert-master since 2009 and has appeared as ensemble soloist in concerti by Bruch,Vivaldi, Reicha, Bach, Corelli Telemann and Dittersdorf.  She has received high praise for these performances by critics and educators who commented not only on her virtuosic playing, but also on her ability to discover and successfully perform works too rarely heard by composers such as Johann Reicha and Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf.

Her performance of the Bruch Violin Concerto was very well-reviewed by a critic, Sheila Abramson. (http://www.njartsmaven.com/2012/10/bruch-violin-concerto-reveals.html) who had this to say about her playing: “I was absolutely amazed by the Agnes Kwasniewska I saw Sunday. Her emotional commitment to the music was dazzling. She was one with the composer. It was an unforgettable performance that brought tears to my eyes. That doesn’t happen very often.”

While residing in Hong Kong, Agnes was a founding member of the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong in 1999. She remains an active guest artist with the ensemble. The renowned conductors with whom she’s worked include Kurt Mazur, Leonard Slatkin, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Henryk Gorecki, Christopher Warren Green Sir Neville Mariner, John Rutter and recently Jose Serebrier.Agnes has appeared at Carnegie Hall, New York; The Art Center in Seoul, Korea; The Art Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Papal Hall, Vatican City, and the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.

She has recorded with Koch, BBC, and NAXOS.

She was invited as a faculty member at the United Nations International School in Manhattan  and at the Virtuoso Suzuki Academy in New York where she  is currently serving as a director to over 150 students and many teachers.

She will be a violin soloist in Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante with BONJ in April 2018!
