NYCMS Artists join BONJ July 18

New York Classical Music Society artists will perform with The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, Maestro Robert W. Butts, conductor, in the special July 18 live concert at The Madison Community Arts Center, 10 Kings Road, Madison, New Jersey at 4:00 PM.  Admission Free. 

Maestro Butts was named New York Classical Music Society 2019 Artist of the Year.

Concert is rain or shine - if possible, it will be on the pavilion in front of the arts center.  If necessary, we will move inside the arts center.

The BONJ and NYCMS have collaborated several times in the past featuring artists such as the legendary Robert Watt, guitarist Stanley Alexandrowicz, soprano YuJung Bae, pianist Adam Kent and others.

Lynn Czae, pianist and NYCMS President, will perform a movement from Wolfgana Amadeus Mozart''s Piano Concerto K450, familiar to all from the film Amadeus.  Renowned for both her technical brilliance and profound musicality, pianist Lynn Czae has become a major figure on today’s international concert stages. Annually touring the globe, she regularly gives solo, chamber, and concerto performances throughout the capitals of the music world (New York, Paris, Milan, Geneva, Bern, Los Angeles, Kiev, Beijing, Seoul, Genoa, Vietnam , London, Edinburgh ,Rome).  Recognition of  Lynn Czae’s innate musical gifts came early—by age 5 she was giving her first public performances, and by age 9 she had won her first major piano competition . Then she won  The Korea Times competition, The Chosun Daily News Competition and HongKong international piano competition as a teenager . After winning the Mozart international competition in France, and Young Keyboard Artist competition  in New York, Her concert career was quickly established, and numerous awards and accolades confirmed her prodigious musical gifts ("Mozart Award”—France; "Granada Music Award”—Spain). Lynn’s pianistic studies have included tutelage with such “Titans of the Keyboard” as Byron Janis,  Arthur Balsam, Zenon Fishbein, and her formal music education was obtained at New York City’s two most prestigious music schools: the world famous Juilliard School, and  renowned Manhattan School of Music.  Since 2004, promotion and appreciation of the Arts (with emphasis on classical music) have been her goal as President and Executive Director of the New York Classical Music Society (with Global branches in Korea, Italy, China). The City of New York has bestowed upon her the "Citation of Honor Award" for her continuing commitment to the Arts.

SeungAh Hong began cello lessons at the age of 6 and made her orchestra solo debut at the age of 13.   She is currently serving as the Principal Cellist of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra.  A top prize winner of the Osaka international Music competition and the Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Competition, the IU Cello Concerto competition, the Kuttner quartet competition, the Kumho Asiana Young Artist Concert Audition, the Ujung Arts Center Rising Star Concert, and the Ewon Arts Center Young Artist Auditions,  SeungAh Hong has been praised for her elegance, verve, sensitivity, richly lyrical interpretation, and commanding stage presence. Ms. Hong made critically acclaimed recital debuts at prestigious venues such as the Kumho Art Hall, Ujung Art Center, Maria Callas Hall and Ewon Art Center in Seoul. In the United States, she has performed as a guest artist at the John F. Kennedy Center, Oberlin College, Bowling Green State University, Wabash College, Whitman College, and Indiana University. Aside from her solo career, she has a strong passion for chamber music. Recently, she has served as a principal cellist of the Aspen Philharmonic Orchestra and a chamber music mentor at the Aspen Music Festival and has performed at the Sarasota Music Festival and the Atlantic Music Festival. As a baroque cellist, she has been invited to perform at the American Bach Soloists, Oregon Bach Festival, San Francisco Early Music Festival, Bloomington Early Music Festival, Bloomington Bach Cantata Series, and Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival.  Ms. Hong will be performing "Les Larmes de Jacquiline" by Jacques Offenbach. 

Soprano Seunghee Cha was born in Seoul Korea and immigrated with her parents to Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 9. At the age of 17, Ms. Cha was the youngest singer to be accepted into The Julliard School of Music in the Voice program. Ms. Cha acquired Bachelors and Masters degrees from the Juilliard School of Music.  Recently she has acquired Doctorate of Church Music from Lordland University.   Ms. Cha has acquired many awards; including Regional Finalist /Metropolitan Opera Competition, Winner/Ibla All-Around Competition Foundation, Italy, First prize Winner/ MD Vocal Competition, Korean National Competition of Arts, MD. Ms. Cha was voted as “ 2018 Classical Singer who most glorified Korea” from Mail News’s Korea Luxury Brand Award.  She frequently performs through Charity Functions and Fundraising Events such as Eugene Bell Foundation and Hope for the Future, Habitat for Humanity, Save the children Foundation.  Internationally, she has sung with Stuttgart Pegasus Ensemble (Germany), Antalya Orchestra (Turkey), Hamburg Sinfonietta (Germany), Koln Kamerata (Germany), Paris Chamber Orchestra (Spain and France), Copernicus Chamber Orchestra (Poland), Seoul Orchestra (Korean) and many others.  Ms. Cha will sing selections by Lerner & Loewe and Giacomo Puccini.
