THE EVERGREEN VIOLIN TRIO (Sara D’Sa, Emily James, and Amelia Muccia) performs music from a variety of styles and time periods and takes some creative license in their own arrangements-- all with warm undercurrents of artistic expression, exploration, discovery, camaraderie, and laughter. The three violinists have performed in many professional ensembles together including an extensive concert tour with the “Pope’s Choir” of Italy, led by Marco Frisina.   Their long standing friendships, shared creative interests and professional experiences culminate in “beautiful music played with heart and soul.”  The Evergreen Violin Trio specializes in presenting programs that feature classical selections, folk songs, selections from the Great American Songbook and original compositions.

SARA STEVENSON D’SA has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at numerous venues in the tri-state area throughout her career as a violinist, and is a founding member of the Evergreen Violin Trio.  She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, and has studied with Todd Philips, Matthew Reichert, Neil Weintrob, Barbara Sturgis-Everett, Nancy Roth, Victoria Peterson and Julie Stevenson.  Sara has also completed Suzuki violin teacher training programs at Ithaca College Suzuki Institutes.  She has taught instrumental music both privately and in NJ public schools.  She is currently an active performer with The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey and the Livingston Symphony, and in 2021 has begun performing with the Adelphi Orchestra.  Performance highlights in recent years include two appearances as violin soloist in Faure’s "Requiem."  She resides in Long Hill Township with her husband and two sons, and with the pandemic as a catalyst has spent the past year homeschooling her children.

EMILY JAMES is a versatile musician who performs regularly in the New York Metropolitan area. She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from the John J. Cali School of Music, Montclair State University, where she attended on full scholarship. Emily is the recipient of many awards, scholarships, and distinguished honors including the All-New Jersey Academic Team and the Dean’s Scholar Award from the John J. Cali School of Music. Additionally, she was a concerto competition finalist (violin) in the annual Concerto Competition at the John J. Cali School of Music and was the featured piano soloist of "Rhapsody in Blue" with the Wind Ensemble at County College of Morris. Emily completed her second Master’s degree, an M.F.A. in Musical Theatre Writing from the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University, where she attended on full scholarship. Her choral composition "Fire and Ice" was premiered by the Harmonium Choral Society Chamber Singers during their 2018 season. She is a founding member of the Evergreen Violin Trio.
