Is there a difference singing Baroque and Romantic Operas?  Join host Maestro Robert W. Butts and welcome special guests soprano Maria Alu and tenor Dmitri Zigrino for the 9th episode of Bach, Bagels, and Bob - November 28, 2020 at 10:00 AM.

Soprano Maria Alu has sung in many opera productions as well as concert performances with The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, Opera at Florham, and other companies and ensembles across the United States.  With BONJ, she has sung Cleopatra in Handel's Giuliu Cesare and Adele in Johann Strauss's Die Fledermaus.  With Maestro Butts and Opera at Florham, she was acclaimed for her performance of Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto.

Tenor Dmitri Zigrino originally sang baritone before moving into the tenor repertoire.  With Maestro Butts, he has sung with BONJ Opera, Opera Theater of Montclair, and Eastern Opera.   He sang the role of Capitano in the special 2016 performance of Alessandro Scaraltti's La Giuditta at Morristown National Historical Park.  He has also sung Acis in Handel's Acis and Galatea, Tonio in Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, Rodolfo in Puccini's La Boheme, and Alfred in Strauss's Die Fledermaus.  Dmitri premiered the role of George in Maestro Butts's holiday opera Auld Lang Syne.
