Beatrice Long: Hailed for her “inspired mastery, emotive range and profound lyricism” by La Nacion of Costa Rica, and "consummate craft, finesse and elegance" by Le Dauphine Libere, France; Beatrice Long has captivated audiences in four continents. She received critical acclaim with performances at venues such as Ravinia Festival, Chicago; Festivals in Champagne and Fontainebleau in France, Kunsthalle Appenzelle, Switzerland; and Phillips Gallery, Washington D.C. She was invited to perform at the Presidential Palace of Taiwan and also toured in Central America as a Music Ambassador organized by the Embassies of USA.

As a soloist, she performed with Baltimore Symphony, Mexico National Orchestra, National Symphony of Taiwan, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Jura Symphony Orchestra, France; Montevideo Philharmonic, Uruguay, Laredo Philharmonic, Curtis Orchestra and Ensemble du Monde, New York among others.

As a duo pianist in the Long Duo with her sister Christina Long, she performed at Lincoln Center; Carnegie Hall; Taiwan National Theatre; Hangzhou Grand Theatre and Guangzhou’s Xinghai Theatre (China); Jordan Hall in Boston; Dallas Museum of Arts; The Spoleto Festival (Charleston, SC;) and the Municipal Theatre of Eskisehir (Turkey).  She has recorded Scarlatti Sonatas, the complete Scriabin Mazurkas (Naxos), and Concerti for Two Pianos (Sono Luminus).

Beatrice and Christina performed an unforgettable concert of two-piano concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach with BONJ several years ago.  We are excited to welcome Beatrice back.

Ms. Long graduated with honors from Curtis Institute of Music and Peabody Conservatory under the tutelage of Mieczys³aw Horszowski and Leon Fleisher.  In addition, she was invited to study with Gaby Casadesus in Paris, and Fou Ts'ong in London. Currently she is a faculty at Brooklyn College, City University of New York; and has given master classes at Brown University, Princeton Festival,Tainan University, Shenyang and Wuhan Conservatories and Conservatoire de Lons le Saunier in France.

Keys 2 Success has collaborated with BONJ for the past 4 years.   Keys 2 Success, founded by Jee-Hoon Krska, provides music opportunities for young artists in Newark.  Working with Elijah Souels, young Newark composer, Maestro Robert W. Butts co-composed Tis a Gift, a set of variations on Simple Gifts,  an old Shaker tune.  Led by Seraphina Taylor, young artists from the Keys 2 Success Ensemble will perform this historic piece with the orchestra to open the concert.
