The program will feature music of the 18th century. Songs like Chester, Yankee Doodle, and The Liberty Song would have been known and sung by those in Morristown in the winter of 1780. Dances would have been enjoyed by all. Many concert works and composers would have been familiar to Lafayette, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and others during and after the Revolutionary War. Among the composers on the program that were popular at the time include Franz Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, William Boyce, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, and George Frideric Handel. Also on the program will be Jockey Hollow Suite composed by Maestro Robert W. Butts on commission to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Morristown National Historical Park.
