Beatrice Long, piano

Hailed for her “inspired mastery, emotive range and profound lyricism” by La Nacion of Costa Rica, and ‘consummate craft, finesse and elegance’ by Le Dauphine Libere, France; Beatrice Long has captivated audiences in four continents. She received critical acclaim with performances at venues such as Ravinia Festival, Chicago; Festivals in Champagne and Fontainebleau in France, Kunsthalle Appenzelle, Switzerland; and Phillips Gallery, Washington D.C. She was invited to perform at the Presidential Palace of Taiwan and also toured in Central America as a Music Ambassador organized by the Embassies of USA. As a soloist, she performed with Baltimore Symphony, Mexico National Orchestra, National Symphony of Taiwan, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Jura Symphony Orchestra, France; Montevideo Philharmonic, Uruguay, Laredo Philharmonic, Curtis Orchestra and Ensemble du Monde, New York among others.  

As a versatile musician, Beatrice Long collaborated with musicians such as Ruggiero Ricci. As a duo pianist in the Long Duo with her sister Christina Long, she performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Taiwan National Theatre, Hangzhou Grand Theatre and Guangzhou’s Xinghai Theatre (China), Jordan Hall in Boston, Dallas Museum of Arts, International Piano Series and Spoleto Festival (Charleston, SC) and the Municipal Theatre of Eskisehir (Turkey).  She has recorded Scarlatti Sonatas, the complete Scriabin Mazurkas (Naxos), and Concerti for Two Pianos (sono Luminus). 

Ms. Long graduated with honors from Curtis Institute of Music and Peabody Conservatory under the tutelage of Mieczysław Horszowski and Leon Fleisher.  In addition, she was invited to study with Gaby Casadesus in Paris, and Fou Ts'ong in London. Currently she is a faculty at Brooklyn College, City University of New York; and has given master classes at Brown University, Princeton Festival,Tainan University, Shenyang and Wuhan Conservatories and Conservatoire de Lons le Saunier in France.
